Although the Back Alley Art gallery is an interesting activity to do in Kamloops, it doesn’t receive enough attention. The article slightly promotes the outdoor gallery with updates (the two new murals) and also shows how the B.C government actually cares about it, by funding more than $19.000 for the gallery. Moreover, B.C Minister – Mr. Shane Simpson, also took a walk through the gallery.
The article also covers that the gallery creates some “job opportunities” and I think this is great news. Kamloops is a small city with only about more than 100,000 population so it’s not as possible as finding jobs in other cities of B.C like Vancouver, especially in the art industry.
I think this is an important article to be published by Kamloops Now, it helps reveal some other relevant perspectives of the gallery: the funding, what’s the government takes on this and the employment that the gallery creates. It raises some minor awareness that there is an outdoor gallery in the city.
